Welcome to Platinum Chess Academy. By enrolling in our courses or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. About Our Services

Platinum Chess Academy provides 100% online chess education: structured group cohorts, one-on-one mentorship, and tournament preparation for competitive and rated juniors. All classes are delivered live on Google Meet.

2. Enrollment and Registration

  • All enrollments require accurate personal information of the student and parent/guardian.
  • For students under 18, enrollment must be done by a parent or legal guardian.
  • A registration or assessment step may apply before enrollment, as communicated on WhatsApp.
  • Enrollment is confirmed only after receipt of the first month's tuition (or first mentorship session fee), as applicable.
  • We reserve the right to refuse enrollment at our discretion.

3. Fees and Payment

  • Published fees: Structured Group Cohort ₹2,500 per month; Elite 1-on-1 Mentorship ₹1,200 per session (by evaluation only).
  • Monthly fees are due in advance, by the 5th of each month.
  • Late payments may result in suspension of classes until dues are cleared.
  • We reserve the right to modify fees with 30 days advance notice.
  • Payment methods include UPI and bank transfer.

4. Class Schedule and Attendance

  • Class schedules are published on our website and may be updated periodically.
  • Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes.
  • Structured Group Cohort classes run Thursday and Friday evenings (IST) as published on the Schedule page. Elite 1-on-1 slots are booked by mutual alignment (Monday–Wednesday and weekends).
  • If you need to miss a class, please inform us at least 4 hours in advance via WhatsApp.
  • No carry-over of classes: All cohort classes (whether attended, missed, or rescheduled) are valid only within the calendar month for which they are billed. Unused or missed classes do NOT carry over to the next month under any circumstances. No refund, credit, or extension will be issued for unused classes.
  • This no-carry-over policy applies to leaves taken for school exams, holidays, travel, illness, or any other reason.
  • Compensation classes within the same month are not guaranteed and are subject to coach and batch availability.
  • Schedule changes during exams, festivals, and tournaments will be communicated in advance.

5. Online Class Requirements

For online classes, students must ensure:

  • Stable internet connection
  • Computer or tablet with camera and microphone
  • Ability to join Google Meet (browser or app)
  • Quiet learning environment
  • Punctual attendance (joining within 5 minutes of class start)

6. Code of Conduct

All students are expected to:

  • Behave respectfully towards the coach and fellow students
  • Maintain good sportsmanship during games and competitions
  • Come prepared with required materials
  • Complete assigned homework and practice
  • Not engage in cheating or use of external assistance during assessments

Violation of the code of conduct may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of enrollment without refund.

7. Intellectual Property

  • All study materials, puzzles, and content provided are for personal use only.
  • Recording of online classes is not permitted without express written consent.
  • Sharing or redistributing our materials is prohibited.

8. Liability Limitations

  • We are not liable for any technical issues on the student's end during online classes.
  • We are not responsible for performance outcomes in tournaments.

9. Termination

  • Students may withdraw from the course by providing 15 days written notice.
  • We may terminate enrollment for non-payment, misconduct, or violation of these terms.
  • Refunds upon termination are subject to our Refund Policy.

10. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your personal information.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
